A Taste of Excellence Catering performs annual energy audits on all kitchen equipment, and we utilize high-quality, biodegradable packaging made from renewable resources. Our eco-friendly systems enable us to convert our waste into renewable resources such as bio-fuel and compost for local use. We are always working on our waste management practices in order to reduce our carbon footprint and procure local, seasonal resources when economically viable.
We make it a priority to purchase from vendors that use fair trade practices and that maintain equitable and safe environments for farm and factory workers, whether local, national or worldwide.
A Taste of Excellence Catering believes that locally grown food has many advantages. Foods that are grown and processed close to where they will be consumed can be fresher, healthier and more flavorful. Purchasing locally grown items supports local businesses and farmers and also reduces transportation costs, environmental impact and the use of preservatives.
In light of these benefits of locally grown foods, A Taste of Excellence Catering will make reasonable efforts to identify and make purchases of affordably priced local food products that reflect our commitment to environmental responsibility.
In seeking local food, A Taste of Excellence Catering will use a three-tiered definition of local, placing the highest priority on food that comes from Cuyahoga County and the surrounding counties–Geauga, Lake, Lorain and Medina counties–followed by prioritizing food from the state of Ohio and then food from the Midwest region of the United States.
Our menus are designed on a seasonal basis in order to best utilize local, organic, humanely and sustainably raised ingredients. We offer handmade, artisanal products made by local trades, and, where possible, we will offer a local “farmers market” where our customers can find a variety of farm-fresh local products to purchase, which not only benefits the customer but also promotes local farmers and businesses.
